Yet another reason I won't get a flu vaccine

I understand how tolerance works, but to me, the idea of having to shoot a virus in to my body to help grow a tolerance to catching it, just doesn't appease to me or make 100% sense. I've never gotten a flu shot in my life and go figure, have never had the flu. Since 2008 I've learned to eat healthier, I work out 5 days a week, and overall keep a much more upbeat positive lifestyle. With these three things, the only time I felt under the weather was on two occasions, in which I've gotten at most a head cold that lasted for 2 days (pretty much sweated it out at the gym). I'd say that's not too bad being I see people sick CONSTANTLY, like it's the cool thing to be.

Recently though, with this whole Swine Flu situation, (which isn't the first time we've had this outbreak, as it happend once in the 1970's), people have been getting flu shots and swine flu shots at rapid pace. However, these vaccines contain Thiomersal, which is 49.6% mercury. Thiomersal is very toxic by inhalation, ingestion, and in contact with skin, with a danger of cumulative effects. When applied to human nerve cells it changes cell membrane permeability and induces programmed cell death. It is also very toxic to aquatic organisms and may cause long-term adverse effects in aquatic environments

If you want your flu shot mercury free, you have to specify that you want it mercury free.

“A typical 0.5 milliliter flu shot contains 25 micrograms – or 50,000 parts per billion – of mercury,” the Journal reported.

“The EPA classifies a liquid with 200 parts per billion of mercury as hazardous waste,” it advised. “The limit for drinking water is 2 parts per billion.”

Using the standards set for methyl mercury consumption, “an average 130-pound person getting the flu shot would exceed the daily limit by more than four times,” the Journal reported.

“A 22-pound baby would get more than 25 times the amount of mercury considered safe,” it said.

“Mercury is among the most toxic heavy metals and is known to poison the central nervous system, liver, gastrointestinal tract and other systems in the body,” the Journal reported.

Still need the flu shot? And some of these flu shots are now taken in your nose as you breathe in a vapored burst, for those who are afraid of needles. Nothin like a little mercury straight to the brain.

When the influenza vaccines “are injected into pregnant woman and infants as young as six months, those vaccines contain 50,000 ppb mercury,” warns Deirdre Imus in a November 19, 2007, Huffington Post article titled, “Over Medicated and Over-Vaccinated: The Unintended Consequence of Medicines Meant to Protect.”

It's just not worth it.
